Magi Martinez-Philpot is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished female track and field athletes in Will C. Wood High School history.
During her high school career, she captured Monticello Empire League championships in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter events and qualified for the state meet all four years. As a freshman, she won the Sac-Joaquin Section title in the 3200 meters and continues to hold school records in both the 1600 and 3200.
Martinez-Philpot also excelled in cross country, winning two section titles and helping lead her team to a Sac-Joaquin Section championship. At the state level, she earned top finishes in both cross country and track and field competition.
She went on to compete at the University of California, Irvine, where she was a member of two Big West Conference championship teams and earned Big West Scholar-Athlete honors three times.
