Don Trolinger is recognized for his decades of dedication to Will C. Wood athletics as a coach and administrator. He served as the school’s first boys athletic director and coached multiple sports, including 22 years as boys golf coach and 10 years as girls golf coach. His teams captured a combined 10 league championships.

Trolinger also coached boys basketball at both the junior high and high school levels and served as athletic director for 16 years during Wood’s junior high era. Even in retirement, he has remained a fixture in the program, volunteering as the official clock operator for all home boys and girls basketball games since 1995.
