A member of Will C. Wood High School’s inaugural graduating class in 1992, Jermaine Dye went on to enjoy an outstanding Major League Baseball career spanning over a decade. He played for the Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, and Chicago White Sox.

Dye’s professional accomplishments include being named the 2005 World Series Most Valuable Player with the Chicago White Sox. He was selected to the MLB All-Star Game in 2000 and 2006, earned a Gold Glove Award in 2000, and received a Silver Slugger Award in 2006.

During his time at Wood, Dye was a multi-sport athlete, earning All-Monticello Empire League honors in soccer while also competing in basketball and football. He continued his athletic career at Cosumnes River College and was inducted into the CRC Hall of Fame in 2011.
