At Wood, Clark competed in baseball, basketball, football, and track and field, earning Monticello Empire League Most Valuable Player honors in baseball as a senior. He continued his athletic career at the University of San Francisco on a full scholarship, where he established himself as one of the program’s all-time greats.
Clark still holds multiple school records at USF, including batting average (.361), runs scored (151), stolen bases (86), and double plays (101). A four-time All-West Coast Conference selection, he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 1997 and went on to play Major League Baseball with the Mariners, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, and Oakland Athletics.
In recognition of his collegiate success, Clark was inducted into the University of San Francisco Hall of Fame in 2005. He continues to contribute to the game as a professional scout with the Oakland Athletics organization.
