With immense pride and admiration, we welcome the second of our superstar siblings, Becky Stutte, Class of 2002, into the 2025 Will C. Wood High School Athletics Hall of Fame. Becky’s extraordinary achievements on the volleyball court, her leadership, and her lasting impact on the program make her a truly deserving inductee.
Becky was a standout athlete during her four years on the varsity volleyball team. From the moment she stepped onto the court, her talent, work ethic, and determination set her apart. As a sophomore in 1999 and a junior in 2000, she earned All-MEL honors, a testament to her growing dominance in the league. By her senior year in 2001, Becky had reached the pinnacle of her high school career, being named MEL MVP. Her leadership and skill propelled her team to unprecedented success, making history for Will C. Wood Volleyball.
During her senior season, Becky led the team with 349 assists, contributing to a remarkable career total of 1,971. She was a key contributor throughout her time at Will C. Wood, excelling in multiple facets of the game. As a sophomore, Becky was recognized as the team’s top serve-receive passer, a crucial role in setting up the offense. Her junior year saw the team finish second in the MEL for the first time, signaling the rise of the program. In 2001, under Becky’s leadership, the Wildcats secured their first-ever MEL Volleyball Championship, competed for a section title, and advanced to the first round of NorCals. She earned top defensive player honors and was named team MVP, highlighting her all-around excellence on the court.
Following her stellar high school career, Becky continued her volleyball journey at the collegiate level, earning a scholarship to play at Chico State. Over four years, she continued to develop as a player, carrying forward the competitive spirit and dedication she had displayed at Will C. Wood.
Becky Stutte’s legacy as a trailblazer for Will C. Wood Volleyball is undeniable. Her contributions helped elevate the program to new heights, and her records and accolades serve as an inspiration for future generations of Wildcats. Tonight, as we honor Becky as a member of the 2025 Will C. Wood High School Athletics Hall of Fame, we celebrate her outstanding achievements and the lasting impact she has left on the school’s athletic history.
